All-Inclusive Resort’s Two-Phased Renovation Focused on Quality of Guest Experience, Environmental Sustainability and Fun

MIAMI (September 23, 2014) – Viva Wyndham Resorts announced today it is nearing completion of the first phase of an extensive upgrade to its all-inclusive Fortuna Beach resort and will re-open the popular destination on November 1. The resort, located in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas, has undergone improvements and upgrades that touch nearly every area of the property and are designed to give guests a more vibrant and welcoming experience.

Central to the resort’s enhancements is an extensive upgrade of the property’s leisure activity infrastructure and its most popular guest rooms. The Fortuna Beach pool area has been completely renovated with new tile, decking and other amenity enhancements. And in keeping with Viva Wyndham’s commitment to environmental sustainability, solar panels have been installed for the resort’s hot-water system.

Guests returning to Fortuna Beach also will experience an upgraded dining experience. The resort will open a new reservations-only restaurant called Viva La Pizza, which will serve pizza, pasta and other Italian fare. The resort’s existing Italian restaurant has been re-imagined as Viva Café, a stylish and relaxing dinner-only, a la carte restaurant offering fusion cuisine.  Fortuna Beach’s snack bar also has been expanded and upgraded to offer guests a more open and relaxed feel.

The resort’s recreational lounge area and bar has been extensively upgraded with the addition of state-of-art flat-screen television and stylish billiard tables. The hotel’s gym facilities have been improved with upgrades to bathrooms and locker rooms, facility equipment and lighting. The property’s lobby has been re-modeled and enhanced to create a more dramatic and exciting arrival experience for guests. Common areas and walkways also have been improved with new paint, fixtures and landscaping. Fortuna Beach’s disco and theater have received upgrades, as well.
