GBIPB Welcomes Brand Ambassadors to Share Island’s Unique Stories •

GBI Ambassadors – Lynden Lundy, Zhane’o Newbold, Josh Hall, Alex Thompson, Alannah Vellacott, and Jemonique Barnabie to appear on the cover of the Grand Life Magazine’s Winter 2024/2025 Issue.

FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA – The Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board (GBIPB) is proud to announce the selection of a dynamic and diverse group of local storytellers who will serve as the island’s newest brand ambassadors. These passionate Grand Bahamians have been chosen to share their authentic perspectives on their love for Grand Bahama – highlighting places and spaces that make the island a truly unique destination.

“We are excited to have this diverse group of exceptionally talented Grand Bahamians sharing their personal and authentic views about the wonders of Grand Bahama,” said Meshell Britton, Office Manager at the Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board. “We’ve been following each of their digital journeys, and we’re consistently impressed with their passion for the island and their engaging storytelling. We believe their enthusiasm for Grand Bahama Island aligns perfectly with the GBIPB’s vision, making them ideal representatives for our beautiful destination. We hope that by sharing their experiences it will also inspire others to visit and explore the island.”

The new ambassadors include Lynden Lundy, Zhane’o Newbold, Joshua Hall, Alexandria Thompson, Alannah Vellacott, and Jemonique Barnabie. Each of these individuals brings a unique viewpoint, highlighting the island’s diverse offerings with three destinations in one, charm, and authenticity.

Lynden Lundy, a laundry manager, reflects on the deep connection he has with the island. “My favorite thing about Grand Bahama is its people and beaches,” he says. For Lynden, the island’s warmth and tranquility are unmatched, offering a peaceful environment that makes Grand Bahama unique.

Zhane’o Newbold, a comedic content creator and filmmaker, captures the essence of Grand Bahama through his work. As the manager of a private resort, he understands the importance of storytelling and the role it plays in sharing the island’s beauty and culture. “Grand Bahama possesses a unique and unmistakable charm. No matter where you’ve traveled, the moment you wake up on the island, you can immediately tell you’re in Grand Bahama,” Zhane’o shares.

Josh Hall, a passionate advocate for Grand Bahama, emphasizes the island’s resilience and diversity. “Grand Bahama has SO MUCH to offer,” Josh says, proudly sharing how the island’s varied landscapes and vibrant communities provide something for everyone, whether it’s bustling beaches or quiet, serene spots to unwind.

Alex Thompson, an entrepreneur and public relations director, speaks to the perfect balance between island life and modern conveniences. “I love the simplicity of life, and I’m always just five minutes away from a beach,” Alex shares. She values the access to both rural island culture and modern amenities, which make Grand Bahama a special place to live and visit.

 

 

Alannah Vellacott, a marine researcher, conservationist, and free-diver, is dedicated to preserving the island’s rich natural environment. Alannah facilitates her commitment to conservation by educating others about the island’s diverse marine life.

Jemonique Barnabie, an interdisciplinary artist, embraces the laid-back lifestyle on Grand Bahama. “Grand Bahama offers the perfect balance between island and city life,” Jemonique says. She believes the island’s charm lies in its ability to provide both a relaxing pace of life and access to modern resources, making it an ideal place to live and create.

These ambassadors will be featured in the upcoming Winter 2024/2025 issue of Grand Life Magazine, which has an estimated reach of over 1 million readers worldwide. The magazine will showcase the unique stories and experiences of these brand ambassadors, alongside a special feature on the Platinum Knights Junkanoo group. The cover shoot for the issue was captured by the talented Grand Bahamian photographer Alfred Anderson.

Their contributions will continue to promote Grand Bahama as a premier destination for travelers and a beloved home for its residents.
