Commercial International Flights Officially Resume Via Sunwing & Bahamasair

Freeport, Grand Bahama, December 16, 2019 — Sunwing Airlines has returned to Grand Bahama Island offering two nonstop routes between Canada and Freeport. The Canada-based airline relaunched the seasonal service on Saturday, December 14 with the arrival of a capacity flight to the Fixed Based Operator (FBO) at the Grand Bahama International Airport (GBIA). The Boeing-737 jet, which, for this inaugural journey of the 2019 winter season, combined the offered Toronto and Montreal routes, carried 189 passengers onboard.

Moving forward, Sunwing will operate the direct flights once weekly on Saturdays from Toronto Pearson Airport and Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. Sunwing will offer the service until April. Each flight will bring in stopover visitors who will get the

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, December 4, 2019…… Grand Bahama Island welcomes Devarick Webb and his lovely bride Christina Dobbins, as the happy couple arrives for their honeymoon at the recently reopened Old Bahama Bay Resort & Marina.

Devarick Webb is the Travel Agency Owner, Dynamic Occasions LLC, based in Lithonia Georgia.  He attended the BTOs “Summertime in Freeport” show for trade and media in Atlanta last May, and at the close of the event he was invited to draw the winning business card for the Grand Prize -- a four day, three-night trip to Old Bahama Bay Resort & Marina, a Stingray Experience with West End Ecology Tours, Limousine Transfer with H. Forbes Charter Services, and roundtrip airfare with Bahamasair from Fort Lauderdale.

No-one was more surprised and thrilled than Devarick when the winning business card he pulled turned out to be his own!

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, November 27, 2019 — It was an exciting day for Grand Bahama on Tuesday, November 26, as the island welcomed its first official international flight to the Fixed Based Operators (FBO) at Grand Bahama International Airport since the passing of Hurricane Dorian. Representatives from The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation (BMOTA), Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, Grand Bahama Airport Company, Bahamas Customs and Immigration, and the Royal Bahamas Police Force all assembled on the tarmac Tuesday afternoon to welcome the inbound Bahamasair Boeing 737 Jet. The capacity flight departed Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Tennessee bringing 138 passengers, all of whom are on the island for the 21st Annual Tabernacle Falcons Thanksgiving Basketball Classic.
